One of the most catchy songs I’ve heard recently, A Perfect Lie (Gabriel & Dresden Remix) by The Engine Room deserves a very special mention. My friends and I have nicknamed it ‘The Perfect Song’ in reference to its lyrics. Heck, I even blogged about the soundtrack in an earlier post.

Well, this song being too catchy n all, I decided to make it a ringtone. I have linked to the original version here, so you guys can edit it to your hearts content ;)

I need a wireless mouse…

And my friend Abi is running a contest with the prize being a cool wireless mouse. The cheapskate in me forced my brains to rack up something. The garbage that came out wasn’t too pleasing, but here’s my shot at something free:-

Rajaseelan spotted a hog,
Wanting a good picture to blog,
He angled up by a log,
Unfortunately delirium from sipping eggnog,
Made him fall into the bog.

You should also check out my friend Danny, who has done quite a few quality screencasts.

For those of you who want a higer quality version, you can download it here

Heard this song in the club, so I thought I might as well post the youtube link. The lyrics are included in case you care ;)

“World, Hold On” - Bob Sinclar feat Steve Edwards

Oh yeah, yeah…
Open up your heart, what do you feel
Open up your heart, what do you feel… is real

The big bang may be a million years away
But I can’t think of a better time to say

World, hold on
Instead of messing with our future, open up inside
World, hold on
Wonder you will have to answer to the children of the sky

World, hold on
Come one, everybody in the universe,
World, hold on
Wonder you will have to answer to the children of the sky

Children of the sky…

Look inside, you’ll find a deeper love
The kind that only comes from high above

If you ever meet your inner child, don’t cry
Tell them everything is gonna be alright

World, hold on
Come one, everybody in the universe,
World, hold on
Wonder you will have to answer to the children of the sky

Children of the sky…

Don’t take no for an answer, no no

Right here, spread love, everybody join together now
One [race], one heart, love and unity, everybody sing
yeah!

World, hold on

World, hold on
Come one, everybody in the universe,
World, hold on
Wonder you will have to answer to the children of the sky

World, hold on
Come one, everybody in the universe,
World, hold on
Wonder you will have to answer to the children of the sky

Crime & Passion

Holy Cow!!! I just saw this on youtube. I had to post this, anyone who grew up as an 80’s SBC child will instantly recognize this. One of their locally produced cops & thieves dramas, with an uber-catchy theme song. The one posted on youtube is the mandarin (?) dub, but either way its definitely worth a listen.

WordPress Sticker

My friend Abi is having a contest where some people will get free WordPress stickers if they meet certain criteria. Too bad I didn’t follow this earlier on. This is what happens when you dont read your RSS feeds. :(

Oh well, he’s promised to have more contests in the coming year, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

RapidShare 1-Click-hosting

My friend Danny wrote about this new torrent search engine, YouTorrent. With Malaysia’s frustratingly slow internet connections, with the many accusations of throttling or traffic shaping when it comes to torrents, direct downloads maybe be an alternative option.

This is where one-click-hosting sites comes into play. These sites allow you to upload files to their servers, which they then ‘host’. You’ll be given a link to download them, which can then be passed on to all your contacts, making your media accessible all over the world.  Rapidshare.com is one the the early pioneers and more popular of the lot. Their multiple mirrors and reliability seem pretty good to me, making it one of my preferred file sharing hosts.

There are quite a number of sites that post ‘files’ on rapidshare.com. The 2 which I frequent the most are:

Rapidshare King primaryly uploads movies, while Leecher’s Lair provides everything else under the sun. I personally know a few users with paid RapidShare accounts, because of how easy it is to download things.

Hope this posts helps you guys in getting another alternative to torrenting.

Of Alco, Nicotine & Retarded Bets..

Finally back from my vacation. 6 days in Langkawi really was refreshing. Being a beach bum surrounded by tax free alco helps refresh the mind.

I discovered that Malibu tastes excellent when mixed with pineapple, which in turn made me do a few retarded bets. Alcohol and cameras don’t mix well either, as the latter captures incriminating evidence :P

The problem with long vacations is the natural reluctance to go back to work thats comes once you reach home. Then you just look at the bills piling up on your desk and realise someone’s got to pay them and drag yourself back (to work).

Will blog later on once my mind starts working. Till then, goodbye.
